4th of July & Out w/ Jessica

Since I got back from NY, I went shopping again on the 4th of July. My mom taught my how to carve out a flower from an apple.

Today I had dinner with Jessica~ a middle school friend since 6th GRADE!! wow.. we were young.. only like 10 or 11. So we went to eat Japanese food @ Niwano Hana. We then had dessert at Diary Queen. I had a small blizzard. Jessica had a medium chocolate dipped cone.
The size for Diary Queen here is HUGE!!!!!!

Weekend in NYC!

On June 30th @ 1 in the morning I went to NYC! I went to see Puifai. I went with her Aunt. I arrived in NYC @ like 5 am? I got to see the sunrise! That's something new! I never wake up. So I got to her apartment and we chit chat for a bit and then went to sleep. Woke up again at 11:30. We went out to Chinatown to eat @ a Vietnamese food. We had Nam Nuang, Grilled Chicken on rice, and Shrimp roll.
Next, we went to Century 21. Didn't really do shopping.. Next, we went around to the Rockefeller and took pictures.
Next, we went to St. Patrick's Church @ 5th Avenue.
***STORY STORY ***
So when we went to the church, I found a cellphone phone the steps. I wasn't sure what I should do. So I we didn't know if we should pick it up or not.. but we did. So I picked up the phone being scared that something would happen.. and I called back the most recent outgoing calls, then talked to this one guy he said he would tell his daughter to call us ( his daughter's bf's phone .. i think ) so the owner of the phone called and said we could meet up. Make the story short.. we got $50 bucks for it!!!

We headed to Time Square to take pictures. I wanted to see how my camera would do in the dark. So we go the picture above. ^_^ I think it turned out nice for my 1st time during the night w/ my camera.

We had a system going on ... Puifai would hold the camera tightly (didn't want it to fall or someone steal it) I would look through the viewfinder and aim and press the button ^_^. Not bad! Oh! There was this one guy he was like I'll take the picture.. but then I said that we liked taking pictures like this, but he was scary and looked like he would steal it.

Next, we went to Sanrio store.. just looked around.. nothin' was really on sale.

We were getting hungry and it was like 9pm. So we went to K-Town (Korean). We had Korean BBQ, there were really any cute guyz .. grrr! Next we hand yogurt ice cream "Pink Berry".

My 1st DSLR!!!!! Nikon D40

On June 25th I bought my 1st DSLR ... well I didn't buy it.. buy my Daddy paid for it ^_^
I got the Nie-kon D40 as the Americans love to be unique its "Nye-kon".

I bought the Nikon D40 kit for $550 + tax , it included the 18-55 lens.

My brother taught me a couple of basic things.

A (Aperture) - Its the f-number, it all about the depth of field.. or in other words.. how to make the bg blurry :-p That's wut I like doing.
f-number is small = the more open = more blurry
f-number is big = the more closed = less blurry

A good f-number is when the shutter speed is 60 when there is to tripod.

S (Shutter) - Its the shutter speed. The number that is shown in the camera is 1/X
Therefore...
bigger the number = the more fast = LESS LIGHT
smaller the number = the more slow .. stays open longer.. = MORE LIGHT!! ( like taking those pictures with the lights as a line...

P (Programmed Auto)
The camera has combinations of f-number and shutter speed.

Wow! I haven't updated my blog for a longgggg time! I divide the events up into little parts.

So, my brother came home. It was my Mom's B-day on July 18th, which is the same as Joy IT. My mom and Joy are both from Surat and they have the same birthday. It's funny.

The Thai people in MD held a birthday party for 5 people. My mom was one of them. I didn't really take that many pictures of the party.. it was boring cause it was a last minute thing. Well yada yada..

Tomorrow is Mommy's B-Day!!! This coming Friday, they will have a birthday party for people's b-day. There will be 6 birthday people. Well nothin' is really new.

Time in Georgia!!

I went to Georgia from 6/5/07 - 6/9/07

Day 1

I left Washington Dulles around 12:30. I had to use a kiosk, it was a machine for me to check-in, I didn't get my seat until I arrived at the gate. My flight was short it was only 1 1/2 hours! It is sooo much better than flight to Thailand! LoL. This was my second time flight domestic in the US. I usually go to Thailand. So, it was a little weird for me that the baggage claim was outside, where anyone could go get it. Steph picked me up with her friend Leslie. They took me to Virginia Highlands to eat @ Figo and get Gelato. We saw this Thai Mural!! I took a picture of it. Its weird how out of no where there is this wall with Thai pictures and Thai writing. Next, I went to Georgia Tech to walk around. We then met up with Katherine and then Lisa and we went to Ru Sans to each Japanese food. I had dinner with Steph, Leslie, Katherine, Lisa, Drew, Ashley, Meagan, Ryan, Heather and Art and there was me! That's 11 of us. That was my day. Went to Steph's house which takes around 45 mins in Newnan.

Day 2

Went to eat lunch at Georgia Tech in front of the campanile (that pointy statue thingy, u can see in the pictures) with Brandon, Steph, and Drew. We then went to the World of COKE! That's why u can see I took so many pictures at the "WORLD" of "COKE"... We saw a 4-D movie where the chairs moved also! and the movie was in 3-D. Oh! There was that polar bear! He was scary!!! I think drew was scared of it :-p He was freaky.. I put up clips of the bear. Finally we tasted different kinds of soft drinks/sodas from around the world. South America, and Africa had weird taste buds.. I didn't like any of their drinks. After, Steph and I stopped by Bath and Body to buy lotion and stuff, everything was on sale. Finally, went to Steph's sister's house (Laura) for dinner.

Day 3

I stayed in late. Steph and I went to the oriental market to buy some mushroom soy sauce and oyster sauce. I had brought 3 herbs from Maryland to make Tom Yum Goong. ( kah, takrai, makood & nam prik paow ) . So I made Tom Yum Goong and Kai Pad Kra Paow (Chicken and Basil) So that's what we had for lunch. Steph then went to the Dr. Met up Brandon while he ate and me and Steph had chips and queso (cheese). Steph got sorbet. We went to Ikea to see Meagan and Ryan. Then we came back to Bible study @ CCF (Christian Campus Fellowship). We saw Brandon play. I posted a clip of that too. That was the end of the night.

Day 4

Steph's sister (Melanie) went of Italy. So I woke up to say bye to her and when she left I had another 2 hours of sleep. We didn't do much. We had lunch and took Will (Steph's nephew) to the pool. He's 5. He was swimming for about 2 hours.. So I think I got a little tan from that.. I was under some shade though.. but the sun there was HOT. Later, we headed to Atlanta for dinner @ Chick - fil - A with Katherine. We went to the original Chick-fil-A. Oh! it was raining and a little thundering so we were sure if we were gonna go the baseball game or not.. but we ended up going. So I went to my 1st major league baseball game! It was fun but too bad the Atlanta Braves didn't win. They were playing against the Chicago Cubs. Then we saw fireworks!! That was fun!!

Day 5

I went to eat at Bobby and June's for Lunch. There was Me, Steph, Leslie, Brandon, Kam and Drew. So my last meal was southern food. I had Fried Chicken and mac n' cheese. Drew had to leave for a wedding so he was there for only a bit. Then about 10 mins later.. Drew was back again! LoL!! He said he didn't see a wedding at the church.. so he hung out with us for the rest of the afternoon. We went to a cafe called Octane. We saw Patrick there before I was going to get on my flight. I went to the airport and my flight got canceled !! I didn't really know what to do.. good thing that in DC there are 3 airports which I can go to from my house. So I told them that I could get on any flight that goes to DC. It's great living here. so this time I actually got 1st class this time ^_^ Lucky me! I used buddy passes and I don't get seats until the last minute.

Well that is my whole trip in Georgia!! Oh! This was also my 1st time on the plane by myself. I usually fly with a friend or family.

I'm so glad she got me buddy passes from Delta. I almost had to pay almost $300! I'm so excited~~!

Well other than that today I went to cosco wholesale, we bought lots of fruits! Well only strawberries and cherries. We have kiwis and apricots @ home already~ So I took a few pictures of what we have. The cherries are sooooooo goood!!! The strawberries are HUGE!
